Our numerous activities are divided into groups to suit all abilities, from competitive runners and triathletes to those who enjoy some gentle exercise as well as the Junior age groups.
The Club has an active Triathlon group and is affiliated to Triathlon England, part of the British Triathlon Federation, and members regularly take part Triathlon and other multi-sport competitions such as Modern Biathlon/Triathlon (Modern Pentathlon).
When and Where?
We have a grass track at Pixham Lane in the summer with glorious views of Box Hill and easy access to the magnificent Surrey Hills countryside for long runs.
Club night is Thursday, 7pm at Pixham Lane but many other sessions go on throughout the week such as circuit training at Oakfield Junior School, tuesday night trail running over Ranmore Common and weekend cycle rides. See the training pages for further details.
On the last Thursday of the month we run a Handicap event, this is followed by a meal in the winter or a BBQ after club night in the summer.
Leagues and Events
Both Juniors and Seniors take part in track events in the summer and cross country in the winter as well as road races all year round.
Juniors – We have a thriving Junior section who compete in a number of Leagues such as the Lily B legue for girls, the Ebbisham league for boys and the Young Athletes League for both. A number of junior only sessions are laid on by the club including our popular sportshall sessions at Ashcombe School in Dorking. For more information please visit our juniors page.
Cross Country – In 2010/2011 our male and female teams both competed in Surrey XC League Division 1 and will remain in Division 1 for the 2011/2012 season. Juniors also compete at these events over a shorter distance.
We are also part of the MABAC League, a fun cross country league open to all ages and abilities comprising of one race a month.
The East Surrey League is another option. The league consists of 4 excellent races; two cross country and two road.
Track and Field – Our senior track and field teams compete in Division 2 South of the Southern Mens/Womens League. The men are part of a joint team with Holland AC Sports.
Road – Many members take part in the surrey road league events in the summer. Our very own Nick Hodges is a past winner of this league.
Triathlon – Visit the triathlon pages for more information and to join the triathlon mailing list.
Regional and Nationals – Our talented junior, senior and veteran athletes regularly do us proud at regional and national cross country and track and field championships.
DMVAC organised events – DMVAC organises the Dorking 10 mile in June.
In addition we host a MABAC league event at Holmwood Common and the Surrey Cross Country Championships at Denbies.
Hopefully there is something there for you, if not choose your own from the ever expanding list of running and triathlon events. For dates of any of the events listed above please visit the fixtures page.
