Junior Membership

Joining DMVAC

The Junior section of Dorking & Mole Valley Athletics Club is extremely popular and consequently, over-subscribed. The Club operates a waiting list for prospective junior members. Should you wish for your child to be put on the waiting list or want more information regarding suitable training sessions for your child please send your enquiry to Sue Phillips, the coaching coordinator, on coaching@dmvac.org.uk with details of child’s running experience/distance, age and school year.

All athletes are reminded that the reason for them to come to training will be to improve fitness, improve technique and to compete for Dorking and Mole Valley Athletics Club. All of this will be conducted in a fun and safe environment where every person will have an opportunity to reach their full potential as an athlete and a sports person.

The most important thing to bring is enthusiasm! Athletics is fun, and our training includes games and competitions to stimulate and challenge everyone. Athletes are encouraged to take part in the various sports leagues in the summer, and the MABAC cross-country league.

We cater for all standards from beginners to the very able, and specialist coaching sessions are available within the club for athletes who wish to take their skills further. Club Juniors have gone on to represent Surrey and England.

Any young person behaving inappropriately will be asked to leave due to the fact that there is a waiting list for young people who want to run and get fit.

Please bear in mind that training sessions may run over slightly in time.

Appropriate Clothing

During all training sessions you are expected to come appropriately dressed Trainers, (and a spare pair of training shoes, if you have them) Navy or black Track suit bottoms and shorts, a white T-shirt, a Dorking & Mole Valley hooded top, a water proof top and don’t forget your bottle of water.
To take part in our training sessions all athletes need to be a fully paid up member of the club.
